Federal CPIC Forum

The Forum for Federal Capital Planning, Investment Control & Exhibit 300 Experts

Training

One of our key contributions is providing the FCPF Capital Planning Professional Certificate through our certification process. This is to ensure that a standard of excellence is available to recruit, develop and retain CPIC professionals who have benefitted from FCPF's expertly-developed training curriculums, texts, tests and instructors are publicly and privately available through our alliances with government and industry training partners. By hiring an OMB Exhibit 300 writer, scorer, improvement plan specialist or analyst for CPIC efforts who possesses training and an FCPF Capital Planning Professional Certificate, you can rest assured you are working with a CPIC professional, robustly-educated in the various management principles and disciplines required to effectively represent your CPIC organization.

Mandatory Curriculum - There are two courses through FCPF's Training Alliance Partner, Government*Horizons, Inc., available presently which qualify for FCPF certificates of completion. Successful completion of each of the two-day courses earns (3) credits per course towards the certification requirements. The remainder of the course curriculum is being developed and reviewed for content. Registration and availablility for the courses begins in May 2007. Educational Partners of the Federal CPIC Forum include:
Government*Horizons, Inc. - affliliated with Defense Acquisition University & the USDA Graduate School. Training in CPIC Courses also is recommended for 16 CLPs towards FAC-P/PM and DAWIA certifications.
ESI International - CPIC Courses also count towards PMP electives.
Syracuse University - Capital Planning Courses are part of their University Curriculum counting towards an Information Management degree and the CIO Certificate, through GSA.
Carnegie-Melon University- the Federal CPIC Forum is currently working to establish this partnership.
George Washington University - the Federal CPIC Forum is currently working to establish this partnership.

Authorized Courses - FCPF is presently generating a repository of courses which will qualify for FCPF certificates of completion. Existing providers of training are encouraged to inquire about arranging Training Alliances.

Authorized Materials - FCPF is developing a repository of course materials available which qualify as FCPF-endorsed. You may request an instructor to teach these courses at your site, or you may select public training offerings through our Training Alliance.

Authorized Instructors - FCPF is developing a repository of instructors available for public and/ or private training who presently have passed FCPF reviews and who qualify to teach FCPF courses and sign certificates of completion.

Webinars & CBT - FCPF is developing a repository of courses as e-learning sources, which are being qualified for FCPF certificates of completion.

Reciprocity Considerations - As FCPF develops it's Training Alliance, a list of corporations, educational entities and training providers shall be available for receiving retroactive credit for training taken within the past two years. These approved courses will be considered equivalent to or in place of an FCPF-required course for certification. Students having attended those courses may apply for retroactive credits.
